We're frequent visitors to Cornwall but this was a new location and cottage for us and it was perfect. Two teenagers, dog and parents all happy. Early morning/late evening dips in the sea were an advantage of being a 5 minute stroll from the sea. Our days were spent along the coastal path - great walks from the house in both directions (always ending in pubs/cafes) and we also drove to new starting points to do more walks - Bodmin Moor, Crantock Beach, Poltreath, St Ives. Perranporth is busy, the town beach was always bustling - but a 10 minute walk along takes you to the massive stretch of Perran Sands, always quieter and extremely beautiful. There are enough pubs and restaurants to keep everyone happy in Perranporth itself, so nobody had to be 'nominated driver', but we did enjoy a couple of meals at the fantastic Schooner Inn in Trevaunance Cove - well worth the 1.5 hour walk along the coastal path to get there.
The house itself is a home from home, spotless, well equipped and comfortable - with a sunny garden for breakfast and a fabulous projector set up for evenings or rainy days (although we had 14 days of sunshine). Wi-fi connection excellent for all of those with concerned teenagers.....
The dog is already looking at future bookings - he was welcome pretty much everywhere and the beaches in this area of Cornwall are generally dog friendly, even in summer. Perranporth's summer restrictions mean a lead is necessary 10-5pm but outside those hours they run free and that's when he was walked.
As for bookings/ongoing communications, Debs is wonderful to deal with - every question quickly answered and nothing too much trouble.
